Trust Accountant

About the Role

MagnaCare is seeking detail-oriented Las Vegas–based Trust Accountants to provide financial accounting in accordance with company guidelines, client needs, and legislative requirements. 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare all the accounts receivables journal entries for the health plans and provide them to Health Fund staff.
  • Review and monitors assigned accounts to ensure appropriate funding; direct cash transfers as needed.
  • Complete daily cash reports and logs for Health Fund and provide to Health Fund staff.
  • Perform the monthly bank reconciliations for multiply cash accounts.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries, problems, and exceptions related to the review of account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Manage stop payments or cancel checks process.
  • Support medical claims reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounting role.
  • Thorough understanding of common accounting principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient computer skills, including intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Prior experience preferred working in a third-party administrator, insurance, or health and welfare environment.
  • Prior experience preferred in Taft-Hartley trust administration.
